People at computerThe Middle College program at Southside Virginia Community College offers 18 to 24 year olds without a high school degree a second chance at success to increase their income and employability by simultaneously pursuing a GED® credential, community college education, and a workforce certification.  The program offers targeted remedial courses, access to workforce readiness courses, enrollment in community college courses applicable to a degree or industry-based certificate, and comprehensive support services.

Middle College is a fast track, transitional program that allows students to:

  • Prepare for the GED® test
  • Enroll in community college courses
  • Explore career paths
  • Complete a workforce preparation course
  • Earn a Career Readiness Certificate
