SMARTHINKING is an online, Internet based tutoring service offered to all students at Southside Virginia Community College. SMARTHINKING connects students to
highly qualified and well trained tutors in a variety of subjects including Basic Math , Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, a Writing Lab, General Chemistry, Physics, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Biology, and Anatomy and Physiology. SMARTHINKING will provide you with the tutoring, writing services, and homework help that you need to succeed at Southside!

Submit a question and receive a reply from a tutor within twenty-four hours.
Access the SMARTHINKING Online Writing Lab to help you become a stronger writer. Through the writing lab, you can receive a detailed, personalized critique of any written assignment, such as an essay, report, personal statement, cover letter, resume, or creative story. Getting Started
If you already have a SMARTHINKING account, enter your username & password in the boxes below.
To Create a Smarthinking Account
To begin using Smarthinking, you must first create an account with this service. You must be a registered student at Southside Virginia Community College to so, and the link you will need to access the Smarthinking registration page is now located within Blackboard. (THIS IS A CHANGE!)
Go to the Blackboard link below and login using your normal MySVCC user name and password. When Blackboard opens, you will need to look for the Smarthinking information located below your "My Blackboard Courses" listing on your SVCC tab. Within that information, there is a "Sign-Up Now" button that will take you to the Smarthinking account creation page.

Once you have created your Smarthinking account and have logged in, view the SMARTHINKING Student Handbook for all you need to know about navigating the website and using the service.
