This course will explore a range of web-based resources and exemplary projects which utilize technology to support instruction. Participants will complete the course with a collection of resources and plans for a class-room project that utilizes technology to serve curricular goals. Course restricted to certified teachers.


Finding the Best Educational Resources on the Web

Participants will explore the range of educational material available on the Internet and learn time-saving skills to search the Web more effectively for useful curricular resources. Partici-pants will become familiar with popular search engines and subject directories and will discover techniques to use them appropriately and efficiently. Course restricted to certified teachers.


Differentiating Instruction

This course will introduce students to learning theory relative to learning styles and multiple intelligences, as well as web-based resources to assist teachers in identifying and accommodating for students’ diverse learning needs. Participants will become familiar with teaching strategies and tools targeted for cognitive levels, learning styles, and diverse forms of intelligence. Students will develop a lesson plan which addresses the needs of students who are representative of the groups listed above. Course restricted to certified teachers.


Just "Google" It

Google, the world's famous search engine, is used more than any other search engine on the Web. This course will explore the many highways to organizing your information and making it more accessible and user-friendly for its users. This course will allow participants to utilize Google's resources to find lesson plans, locate places, or whatever they are searching for. Through instruction and guided practice, students will use a presentation or multimedia program to develop a unit or lesson and create an activity in which students use Google as a learning tool for everyone. This course is NOT just restricted to certified teachers.


Weaving Technology into the Classroom

Participants will have a chance to explore a variety of ways that tech-nology can be used to support and enhance their teaching. Developing student-centered projects, inquiry, communication and “virtual-learning” are just a few. Participants in this course will build new resources, use new tools, and create new curriculum materials for their own classrooms. Course restricted to certified teachers.
