Inclement Weather Policy

Student will abide by the inclement weather policy of the Governor's School of Southside Virginia.

GSSV School Policies

Inclement Weather: A college or school division near each GSSV site is designated as the key site for inclement weather closings. The Student Handbook lists the key sites. If the designated college campus or school division closes school, the GSSV site will also be closed. If there is a one-hour delayed opening for that division, GSSV will open one hour late. If there is a two-hour delay, GSSV will be closed and students should report to their home high school. If the home high school closes, GSSV students from that county may not report, even if the site is open for students from other counties. Parents should make decisions for their students based upon safety factors involved at both the GSSV site and the home school divison. This means that some GSSV sites may be open while others are closed. Please listen to local radio stations for school closings and delays. There will be no announcements specifically for GSSV.
