Beginning Guitar

Bring your guitar and learn the basics of the instrument including how to tune it, read guitar music/notes and tablature, play basic guitar chords, and basic strumming and picking.
Oil Painting
February 11, 2012; 9am-4pm

Learn painting techniques and create your own oil painting masterpiece.
*This class is $39 to cover tuition and supplies.
Beginning Swing Dancing
April 12, 2012; 9am-4pm
Instructor: Kem Overbey
Learn how to “dance like the stars” and learn the basic steps for several different types of swing dancing.
Photography
March 3, 2012; 9am-4pm
Instructor: Robert Harris
Bring your camera and learn many techniques such as how to set up a shot, how to choose lighting, how to get the best pictures possible, etc.
Theatre Management
February 4, 2012; 9am-4pm

Learn the basics of what it takes to run a venue - lights, sound, action! Instruction will focus on the development of a performing arts center. |
 Do you want to learn oil painting or how to play the guitar? Has photography always been an interest of yours? Would you like to learn more about the world of Theatre Management or have a  desire to ‘dance like the stars’? If any of these topics interest you, then sign up for the Inner Artist Learning Series offered on Saturdays at the Lake Country Advanced Knowledge Center through Southside Virginia Community College.
 LCAKC is offering this series of artistic workshops so that you can explore your “creative side” and learn the skills needed to join the artistic world. Several non-credit workshops will be  offered and topics include Photography, Beginning Guitar, Oil Painting, Swing Dancing, and Theatre Management.
The Inner Artist Learning Series workshops will be offered on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m.—4:00 p.m. at a cost of $19.00 for each workshop , payable on the day of the  workshop.
