Grant Writing Skills
Southside Virginia Community College will offer a two-day Grantmanship and Grant Writing Skills workshop on December 15-16 at the John H. Daniel Campus in Keysville from 9-3:30 p.m.
The workshop is co-sponsored by the Old Dominion RC&D.
The cost is $50.00 per seat and space is limited to fifteen attendees.
The non-credit seminar is offered at a reduced rate and is open to anyone interested in developing skills in securing government and private foundation grants.
Besides grant seeking advice and proposal writing techniques and skills, the workshop will focus on the tough questions to ask that will help create programs that get funded, stay funded, and are aligned with your mission.
The course is suitable for both novice and experienced grant seekers.
The workshop will cover strategies for finding grant opportunities, how to get a proposal past the first read, how to research foundations and corporations that engage in philanthropy, and many other topics often never considered by individuals seeking grants.
The seminar will be lead by Dr. Charles Stallard, President of the Southern Virginia Botanical Gardens, Inc.
Dr. Stallard is a former Assistant Dean of Research at Old Dominion University and an accomplished author who has published more than 150 research journal articles as well as three books.
Lunch will be on your own.
