Edmonds Awarded Scholarship

Ms. EdmondsSouthside Virginia Community College is pleased to announce that Michelle Edmonds, RN, MSN, NE-BC, Dean of Nursing and Health Technology, has been awarded the Sara Tatem Nursing Education Scholarship from the Virginia Organization of Nurse Executives and Leaders. 

This scholarship honors Sara Tatem who was the driving force in creating the Virginia Society for Nursing Service Administrators.  This organization evolved into the Virginia Organization of Nurse Executives and is now known as VONEL. 

Two awards are given annually to nurses who are members of the VONEL and are continuing their education as full or part-time students in a Nursing, Business, or Healthcare Administration Masters or Doctoral degree program in the Commonwealth of Virginia with a major and/or conducting research in Nursing Administration or a health related field. 

Dean Edmonds is currently enrolled at Old Dominion University in the Doctorate of Nursing Practice program with a concentration as a nurse executive.  She is a distance education student through the Old Dominion University Distance Education site located at Southside Virginia Community College’s Christanna Campus.
