Resource Fairs Scheduled
Southside Virginia Community College will host two free “Regional Resource Fairs” to help area workers who find themselves unemployed or under-employed or just need to be better prepared in this tough economic climate.
On Friday, October 23rd, a session will be held in the Workforce Development Center on the Daniel Campus of SVCC in Keysville. On October 30th, a session will be held at the Workforce Development Center on the Christanna Campus of SVCC in Alberta. [Keysville Agenda] [Alberta Agenda]
Topics include “How to Find a Job”, “How to Keep a Job”, “Mortgage/Foreclosure Prevention”, “Resources for Older Workers”, “Small Business Ownership” and “How to Budget Wisely.” In addition there will be free practice GED tests and Free Career Readiness Assessments.
The ‘Regional Resource Fairs’ are sponsored by the Governor’s Economic Crisis Strike Force, the Area 8 South Central Workforce Investment Board and Southside Virginia Community College.
