The mission of the SVCC Bridges to Success Program, consisting of Comprehensive Learning Centers, Bridges Learning Labs, and advisor training, is to improve student retention and graduation rates by providing: 1) access to state-of-the-art computer resources, 2) academic support through individual and group tutoring, 3) cognitive skills training, and 4) one-on-one help to successfully meet the demands of college.

Funding Source
The Comprehensive Learning Centers and Labs are part of “Bridges to Success”: a federal program aimed at improving retention and graduation rates at Southside Virginia Community College. Eighty-six percent (86%) of the funding is through a five-year grant of $1.9 million from the U.S. Department of Education’s Title III Part A - Strengthening Developing Institutions Program.
