Phi Theta Kappa Membership

Membership is based primarily upon academic achievement. Invitation to membership may be extended only by the local chapter at the institution in which you are enrolled.

To be eligible:

  • You must be enrolled in a regionally accredited institution offering an associate degree program
  • You must have completed at least 12 hours of coursework leading to an associate degree program (part-time students may be eligible)
  • You must generally have a grade point average of 3.5
  • You must enjoy full rights of citizenship in your country

Note: All Alpha Theta Upsilon Members must maintain their grade point average

  • If your semester GPA falls to a 3.25, you will be placed on probation for the next semester
  • If you fail to bring your GPA up to a 3.5 after one semester's probation, You will be removed from the membership roll and forfeit all dues
  • If your semester GPA falls below a 3.25, you will be immediately removed from the membership roll and forfeit dues

Alpha Theta Upsilon Enhanced Membership:

To be an Enhanced Member one must complete the following:

  • Attend at least two meetings per semester
  • Participate in two activities

Note: The chapter will purchase stole and tassels for all Enhanced Members.
