Phi Theta Kappa Photos
Dr. Cavan recently ran the St. Jude Marathon in Memphis to benefit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The PTK chapter on the Daniel Campus raised a total of $2,100 during 2009 – 2010 for this cause.

Fall 2009 PTK Inductees
Charlottesville, VA – Attending the recent 2009 Leadership Conference for the Virginia Region of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society are SVCC officers (left to right) William Hollingsworth, Secretary; Dustin Black, President; Adeelah Salaam, Vice-President; and Jonathan Woods, Treasurer. Also attending was Dr. Stanley Johnson (top) who serves as an advisor. The Leadership conference was held at the University of Virginia in September.
The 2009 Fall Campaign for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was kicked off recently at Southside Virginia Community College by the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. Pictured above with Dr. John Cavan (Right) are chapter officers and advisors on the Daniel Campus in Keysville. Advisors(Left to Right) Dr. Stanley Johnson and Ashley Leslie hold an Afghan that was handmade and donated by Mrs. Ann Cavan to be raffled off to help raise needed funds. Officers include Dustin Black, president; Jonathan Woods, treasurer; William Hollingsworth, secretary/Web Master, and Adeelah Salaam, vice president.
